Antique Edwardian Country House Upholstered Armchair, Early 20th Century
Antique Upholstered Chair
A good quality country house chair of fairly squat proportions currently in its original and wonderful stripey blue floral fabric with depictions of crocuses, daffodils and snowdrops.
Standing on tapered mahogany legs with the original brass and ceramic castors.
Unsure of the maker but it is a good quality example, the rear leg is stamped with the number ‘598’.
Probably dating from the Edwardian period, 1901-1910.
The chair is in well-used country house condition and has some wear throughout. It is being sold as seen. The bones on the chair appear to be in good vintage order and it is solid and sturdy. The original fabric is worn through in places, the chair could be used as is for a while, efforts could be made to conserve the fabric or it could be recovered.
Measuring 88cm high x 70cm wide x 69cm deep. The seat height is roughly 44cm.
