Antique French Baccarat Glass Epergne Table Centrepiece, 19th Century
Antique French Glass Table Centrepiece
A decorative and impressive piece with a central moulded frosted glass figure in the Neoclassical taste between two graduated frosted glass bowls terminating at a glass flute-shaped vase at the top.
The figure is known as the ‘Classical Lady’ which was used in a range of homewares by renowned quality French glass maker Baccarat.
Would look amazing covered in fruit, flowers sweets or anything else yummy. Useful either decoratively, practically or both.
Dating from the late 19th Century, circa 1880 in date.
Unsigned as was most of Baccarat’s glassware of the period but attributed using documentation and previously sold examples.
It is largely in good vintage order with minor wear throughout consistent with age and use. Most of the individual glass pieces are free from any significant damage. The only slight issue I would point out is that there is a chip to the connecting piece above the larger bowl.
Approximate measurements 61cm high x 24cm diameter, at the widest point.
