Antique Original Oil on Canvas Painting

A charming depiction of a beach at sunset with the silhouette of a wooden fishing boat in the foreground and wooden huts to the right.

Painted in a folky naive style.

Inscribed with the initials 'C.H. to the lower right and dated '95' for 1895.

Framed in its original deep set simple wooden frame, later painted.

The painting itself is in good vintage order. There is some wear commensurate with age throughout. There is a craquelure to the surface which we think adds to its decorative charm. There is a small old tear to the canvas underneath the huts but this isn't hugely noticeable.

Approximate overall measurements 45cm x 34cm x 5cm deep.

The canvas measures 35cm x 24cm.
