Antique George III Vernacular Oak Lowboy Side Table, Late 18th Century
Antique George III Vernacular Oak Lowboy Side Table, Late 18th Century
Antique Georgian Oak Table
A decorative and useful table casting a decorative silhouette with a fret-cut shaped apron loosely based on a fleur de lis motif.
A country-made piece with a two plank moulded top, one large over two shorter drawers on square chamfered legs
Original rococo-style drop handles with a matching false escutcheon.
Probably English in origin and circa 1770-1780 in date.
It is in good vintage condition, it is solid, sturdy and a very usable piece of furniture. The drawers all run smoothly. There is wear throughout commensurate with age as you would expect. There is an old, honest repair to one side of the fretwork on the apron but this isn’t hugely noticeable.
Approximate measurements 77cm wide x 48cm deep x 72cm high.
