Antique Lavabo
Made from white glazed earthenware in the form of a woven basket with a decorative metal tap.
Originally designed to hold water or other liquids which could then be dispensed using the tap.
The underneath is stamped with the mark for Creil & Montereau which dates the piece between 1884-1920. I would probably date this particular piece to the 1890s.
It is in very good vintage condition with some minor wear commensurate with age. There is a small chip on the back towards the top and there are a couple of very small flea bites to the glaze on the internal rim but you wouldn’t notice these when mounted on the wall.
Measuring 40cm high x 30cm wide x 20cm deep.
