Vintage Original Abstract Painting Architectural Study by Richard Sladden, Late 20th Century
Vintage Original Gouache on Paper Painting ‘Vitra’ by Richard Sladden.
Sladden (1933-2020) originally trained as an Architect at the RWA (Royal West of England Academy) he later moved into sculpture and then abstract painting always being influenced by modernist architecture.
He came into prominence in the 1960s with one-man shows at the New Vision Centre Gallery and Alwin Gallery in London and at Arnolfini Gallery, in Bristol, as well as showing with groups in MoMA, New York.
Titled ‘Vitra’ this painting is almost certainly inspired by the Vitra Design Museum and Factory designed by Frank Gehry in 1989. Sladden was greatly inspired by Gehry's work in his abstract paintings.

Framed and glazed in the original and complimentary simple painted wooden frame with museum non-reflective glass.
In excellent vintage condition with only minor wear and tear as can be seen in photos.
