Antique Racehorse Diorama

A truly unique item, lovingly hand made using a print from the Illustrated London News as a background. This has been skillfully hand coloured with watercolours. The horses have been raised above the surface to give a three-dimensional effect and then the riders have then been placed in front of these. The jockeys silks are made from silk, their reins are leather and the crops are made from straw.

Framed in its original maple frame with handwritten label verso.

It is in remarkable condition for its age, the colours are still bright and not faded. Other than a bit of minor wear and tear on the frame, there are no real condition issues.

Measuring 38.5 cm wide x 29cm high.
