Antique Original Oil on Canvas Painting Depicting a Female Sitter
Depicting a woman with a warm face and friendly pale blue eyes. She is sitting on a red button-backed chair wrapped in a black velvet cloak with a lace cap on her head with flowers. She is holding a book with her finger marking her page.
Painted in a provincial almost naive style.
Dating from the early to mid 19th century period possibly late Regency or early Victorian era, circa 1820s-1840s.
In a later, yet complimentary and highly decorative gilt frame.
The painting is in good vintage order there are no serious issues. There is a small amount of wear, commensurate with age, mainly in the lower 10cm of the canvas but nothing serious. The frame is in good vintage condition.
Overall measurements 103cm x 80cm x 7cm.
