Antique Original Oil Painting Depicting a Female Sitter, 19th Century

An earnest, rosy-cheeked young woman with big blue eyes and red lips, dressed in her finery with ringlets in her hair, a feather headdress and gold jewellery.

She is seated in an interior setting with a view of the garden exterior and a pink rose on the window ledge.

In its original and highly decorative gilt gesso frame.

The painting itself is in very good condition, there doesn’t appear to be any repairs, the surface is clean and bright, the only thing I would point out is some craquelure to the surface which can be seen in the photos, we think this adds to its charm. The frame is also in good order with on;ly minimal wear and tear consummate with age.
