Octagonal Oak Centre Table by Gillows of Lancaster, 1880s
Octagonal Oak Centre Table by Gillows of Lancaster, 1880s
Antique Aesthetic Movement Dining Table
Originally would have been a centre table in a grand hallway but would also work well today as a dining table.
Wonderfully rich solid oak with turned wooden legs and highly decorative cross stretchers.
There are four drawers with brass handles, two of which are very deep and two are more shallow and it is also on its original castors.
Stamped ‘Gillows & Co.’ and numbered ‘13013’ which dates the table to 1881-1882.
It is in good vintage order, it is solid and sturdy and the drawers run as they should. There is some cosmetic wear and tear here and there but this is part of its history.
Measuring: 113cm wide x 113cm deep x 76.5cm high. The distance between the floor and the underside of the drawers is 65cm.
