Edwardian Shop Fitting Display Case by F. Sage & Co.
Antique Glass Museum Display Case on Table
Dating from 1905.
Made by Frederick Sage & Co. high-end shopfitters who, five years earlier fit-out Harrods.
Mahogany and pine with brass handles.
The glass display case is accessed on one side by three lift down flap sections. It is free-standing and sits on top of the separate table which has two drawers and a pull-out desk section.
It is in great vintage condition, the glass is free from damage and all doors and drawers work as they should. I think at some point in its history for ease of transport someone has divided the two sections and put a top on the lower table section. This could easily be removed and the top and bottom sections could be reinstated as one again but it is quite practical as it is so we have left it. Other than that it is solid and sturdy and there aren’t really any condition issues other than some cosmetic wear and tear that can be seen from the photographs.
Measuring: 214cm long x 61cm deep x 98.5cm high.
