Walnut Funkcionalist Dining Chairs by Frantisek Jirak for Mier
Walnut Funkcionalist Dining Chairs by Frantisek Jirak for Mier
Set of Four Vintage Czechoslovakian Dining Chairs
Designed by Frantisek Jirak in the late 1950s and produced across the former Czechoslovakia in various state owned factories.
These are the more sought after smooth edged ‘Lollipop’ chairs with fantastic walnut grain.
Luckily we have one completely intact paper label on the underside which dates them to 1962 manufactured in Mier factory in Topolcany (now Slovakia) and made from walnut, ply and beech. They were also made in the Tatra factory.
They are in excellent vintage condition with only minor wear and tear and are still sturdy. The original green upholstery is free from holes, tears and any major stains but is slightly worn in places, mainly along the front edge.
Each chair measures: 81cm high x 42cm wide x 53cm deep. The seat height at the front is 49cm.
