Set of Four 'Carimate' Chairs by Vico Magistretti, 1960s
Set of Four 'Carimate' Chairs by Vico Magistretti, 1960s
4 x Mid Century Dining Chairs
Originally designed in 1959 by renowned Italian designer Vico Magistretti for the Carimate golf club in Lombardy and then produced by Cassina. They were first imported to the UK in the early 1960s by Terrance Conran and retailed in his Habitat stores.
A design classic that features in the permanent collection of many museums and galleries globally including MoMA New York.
In the original red paint with the original rush seats.
They are in great vintage condition. There is some natural wear to the original red lacquer from age and use but no real damage and the joints are solid and sturdy. The rush seats are also in good order two are in excellent vintage condition, one has some slight wear and the other is slightly more worn.
The seats can be easily and fairly reasonably replaced but given these are the originals and there is still lots of life left in them I would leave them exactly as they are.
Each chair measures: 75cm high X 51cm wide x 47cm deep. The seat height front centre is 45cm.
