A Pair of Vintage Cloud-Backed Tub Armchairs

Very comfortable and extremely pretty.

Would work equally well as boudoir/bedroom chairs or as cocktail chairs in a living room.

Sumptuous embroidered satin upholstery in the chinoiserie taste with luxurious feather-filled squab cushions, all with tassled fringing.

They probably date from the 1930s-1940s period.

Raised on slightly later tapered beech legs with castors.

They are in very good vintage condition and have been well cared for. There is some minor wear commensurate with age throughout. The only thing I would point out is one small hole to one side on one of the chairs wear the wooden frame has rubbed against the fabric.

Each one measures approximately 77cm high x 75cm wide x 77cm deep. The seat height is roughly 47cm.
