Antique Louis XV Style Walnut Chair

Late 19th/early 20th century.

Carved walnut frame with scrolls and foliate details.

Embroidered needlepoint upholstery in a pale blue colour with floral decoration.

Bought in rural Northern France.

Hugely decorative.

It is somewhat worn and faded and that’s why we fell for it. There is some wear to the upholstery here and there but this is forgiven. The walnut frame is in good order. The only things I would point out is that you can feel a couple of the springs in the seat and there is a bit of movement in the joints. If you want to use it regularly as a comfortable chair I would recommend getting these adjusted or replaced. If being used as a mainly decorative chair with occasional use I would say it is fine as it is.

Each on measures: 86cm high x 59cm wide x 65cm deep. The seat height varies a lot but is around 43cm.
