Depicting a woman with a knowing look in her pale blue eyes. She is wearing a fairly elaborate frilled bonnet with a blue bow around her neck.

Painted in a provincial, naive style.

Probably dating from the Early Victorian period, somewhere in the 1830s-1850s.

In its original and highly decorative gilt frame.

The painting is in good vintage order there are no serious issues. There is some wear, commensurate with age. The frame also survives fairly well with some minor wear and losses.

Overall measurements 75cm x 57cm x 4cm.
