Vingoe used to travel around door to door showing examples of his work and asking people if they would like him to paint their houses or businesses. In this case, it was the Thatched Cottage pub for the Nicholson’s Brewery in Maidenhead. The pub still exists to this day.

Vingoe painted in a naive folk art style that really captures a snapshot in time his work can be found in various museums around the UK.

Signed ‘F. Vingoe’ and dated ‘1908’.

In its original simple gilt frame.

There is some minor wear to the painting in parts but overall it is in good condition.
