Large Antique Heavy Brass Chandelier

Six lights with the traditional Dutch bulbous bottom and a stylised version of Amsterdam’s coat of arms with a lion holding a shield with ‘XXX’ emblazoned on it. This is traditional but somehow still quite relevant today, especially in the red light district!

I am guessing this originally hung in a public building in Amsterdam.

It had the very early original electrics with the wooden candle holders which date from the turn of the century around 1900 so it is at least that old, it might even be earlier and have been converted to electricity.

It is in good vintage condition. It has been professionally and sympathetically rewired by our electrician. It has built up a wonderful patina over the years which we love but obviously could be polished up to suit taste.

Measuring: 118 cm high from base to top of ceiling rose x 99cm wide at widest point.
