Hugely decorative, one is smooth and the other is completely gnarly.
Unsure of exact age but probably somewhere between 1900-1950.
We have left them completely as they are as we like the way they look. I would keep them out of reach of children/pets tongues if you would like to keep them like this. Alternatively, they could be cleaned up.
They are solid, sturdy and extremely heavy.
