A Stunning pair of antique Indian dishes.

Handmade, heavily embossed and studded rims, highly decorative pieces which are unique and would suit a variety of uses or have a intrinsic aesthetic value as they are.

They may have originally been used for burning incense as there are pieced holes surrounding the outside.

At the very latest I would date them to the 19th century but could possibly be earlier.

The dishes are in great vintage condition, I am unsure about whether they were originally for something else and whether they were converted to bowls at a later date. The bases seem to be more rudimentary than the surrounding rims, they definitely have quite a bit of age to them so I may be wrong. They could be polished up more if so desired  but we like them as they are so have left them.. Please see photos. 

Each one roughly measures: 23cm diameter X 3cm high.
