Lacquered Upholstered Three-Fold Screen
Lacquered Upholstered Three-Fold Screen
Art Deco Ebonised Room Divider
Dating from c.1920s-1940s.
Islamic influenced wooden frame with high gloss black lacquer.
Double-sided floral fabric on a red background.
Connected with elasticated fastenings so each section can fold both ways.
It is solid, sturdy and works as it should. There are no rips, holes or tears but the fabric is faded, in some places more than others and the frame is worn with scratches and some small areas the lacquer is missing. We love the overall look and that’s part of the reason we fell for it. It is also worth pointing out that I think it used to be a four-fold screen as one of the ends has holes for more fasteners.
Measuring: 170cm tall and each section is 64cm wide so when standing it could stand between 120-160cm wide.
