Antique Regency Sunderland Pink Lustre Pottery Mug/Tankard, Farming Interest, Early 19th Century
Antique Pottery Mug
A generously sized mug with pink lustre and transferware decoration.
A scarce type, we cannot find another example similar to this.
An unusual configuration displaying a wealth of tools used in farming practices, including a butter churn, a wheatsheaf, and various sieves, riddles, barrels and funnels, etc., all with green lustre shadows to the objects and a pink lustre rim.
Unusually, there is no text, and the shapes/colours of the objects prove to make this mug an extremely decorative object.
Probably dating from the 1820s-1830s period.
It is in very good vintage condition with only minor wear commensurate with age. There are some original firing faults to the glaze, as you would expect, some light crazing in places and some minor flea bite chips to the glaze, but no serious issues, no cracks or large chips to the pottery, and I can’t find any restoration.
Approximate measurements: 10cm high x 14cm wide x 10cm deep.
Delivery is £15 to the Mainland UK. If you live elsewhere, please get in touch for an accurate quote. The shipping will automatically be added at checkout unless you select collection.
