Antique Original Golf Watercolour Painting in Oak Arts and Crafts Frame, Early 20th Century
Antique Golfing Interest Picture and Frame
An interesting and unique piece which was probably commissioned for an early golf club.
A charming watercolour study of an early 20th-century golfer in typical tweed attire in a picturesque setting with cliffs behind.
Signed indistinctly to the lower right.
The pegged oak constructed Arts and Crafts frame is inscribed with the initials ‘CLGC’ on one side and dated ‘1905’ on the other in a black sign-written script typical of the age. The frame is naturalistically shaped and incorporates small shelves underneath the aperture.
It is in very good vintage condition with some wear commensurate with age.
Overall measurements 70cm wide x 52.5cm high x 8cm deep. The painting itself measures 31cm x 26cm.
