Edwardian Taxidermy Birds in Display Case
A very rare cased taxidermy study of two jackdaws with differing levels of albinism. Apparently not many survive as they are rejected/killed at birth.
The top one is in flight which is mostly black with some white feathers. The bottom one is almost completely white and is stood on the floor. Both sitting in a naturalistic setting and in a glass fronted ebonised case.
Probably dating from the late 19th/early 20th century period.
The birds are isn good vintage condition as they have been cased. The case is also in good nick, the glass is free from damage and the case itself has some minor wear and tear. There is some old woodworm in the back of the case but we have treated this to be sure. Please see photos.
Measuring 56cm X 46cm X 20cm.
