Mid Century Mirrored Artwork

An abstract piece with two spiralling geometric circles with spikey sun rays, slightly reminiscent of ammonites or potentially an owl’s face. Possibly the artist was inspired by either, or both, or it could be a purely abstract piece.

The orange background appears to be layered over a gold mirror with a further applied layer of dark and then light green and yellow outlined with black.

Although very bold and abstract, on close inspection, the artwork appears to be made by hand using mixed media techniques of layered collage and printed colours.

The artwork is unsigned and I can’t find another example or a similar example elsewhere, so I can only assume it is an original one-off piece.

Probably dating from the 1960s-1970s period.

Framed in its original deep-set wooden frame.

The mirror is in good vintage order with no chips or cracks and no serious issues. There is some handling wear commensurate with age.
