Antique Original Oil Painting

Depicting a young red-headed girl on blustery heathland. There is something about her, she is young with chubby, ruddy legs and cheeks but there is a real strength and defiance in her.

The painting is unsigned but is painted very well, the girl’s personality really comes through, there is a quick and confident, almost impressionist technique used which seems to nod to quite a skilled hand.

I would date this to the 1910-1930s period.

In its original and complimentary gilt frame.

The painting itself is largely in very good condition and free from any significant damage or restoration that I can see. There is a small amount of old woodworm which we have treated for good measure. The frame has suffered from some damage over the years and has some repaired sections, but this is only really noticed on close inspection.
