Antique Naive Rural Scene

One of the most charming and thoroughly sweet depictions of farm animals I have seen. There is a lovely glint in their eyes! Two cattle, possibly shorthorn one seated and one standing, a fluffy seated sheepdog next to a shovel and some sheep further behind, all within. a higgledy-piggledy rustic farm setting.

Dating from the mid-late 19th Century.

In its original maple frame.

The painting itself is in good vintage condition, there is some wear commensurate with age, very minor losses and craquelure.

Overall measurements: 53cm x 47cm x 3cm. The painting itself measures 45cm x 38cm.
