Vintage Original Gouache Painting

Depicting a black figure in a hat carrying two large fish across his shoulder using a paddle. There are birds behind with fish in their bellies.

Painted in an expressionist folky style, almost Miro-esque with symbolist lotus blooms and foliate decoration with a vibrant colour palette against a rich blue background.

Signed indistinctly to the lower left.

Probably Asian in origin. Possibly South Indian or South East Asian.

Dating from the mid to late 20th century period, circa 1960s-1980s.

Framed and glazed in a complimentary grey-painted wooden frame.

In great vintage condition with only minimal wear commensurate with age.

Overall measurements 59cm x 59cm x 4cm.
