Pair of Italian designer chairs the original Plia perspex and chrome folding chairs designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli in 1969.

The original Plia Folding Chair was designed by Giancarlo Piretti for the label Castelli in the year 1967. These chairs were such a design classic, they are included in the permanent exhibition at the MoMA in New York.

The designer developed the 3-layer-joint with a smart, flat folding mechanism that lead to the chair becoming such an icon.

The Castelli folding chair features a chrome-plated steel tube frame, while the seat and back are made of plastic.

The chairs are in good condition, they have some minor scratches to the plastic here and there as you would expect and a tiny amount of rust to the underside of the chair frame, two of the plastic feet caps are missing on one chair but that has not effected its balance in anyway. sold as a pair.

Measuring:

51 cm wide, 76 cm high, and 48 cm deep.

The seat height measures 43 cm
