Our names are Arthur and Mollie, we are friends and business partners who run Rag & Bone, a decorative antique and vintage furniture store. We are passionate collectors of authentic, high-quality and unique antiques.
We began our journeys separately - dealing at an assortment of antique fairs such as Spitalfields, Brixton market and at other locations throughout the UK. Arthur then set up Rag & Bone on Chandos Road in Redland, Bristol in 2012. Mollie was a regular visitor to the shop and we became fast friends through our passion for beautiful and quirky antiques. We quickly decided to combine forces and go into business together.
Although all our items are available online, our dream was to find a bricks-and-mortar home for Rag & Bone that reflected our unique and eclectic style. We hoped to fill a space with our collection which contains everything from the retro and vintage to traditional 18th-century pieces, so that our customers could come in and get a real sense of our playful aesthetic.
In 2015 we were lucky enough to find the perfect home in the vibrant Old City area of Bristol, the thriving heart of the city’s independent trade. We are perfectly situated next to St. Nicholas Market, named as one of the ten best markets in the UK famous for its charm and flair, and we feel Rag & Bone fits in perfectly here!

We are truly invested in the entire process from sourcing to selling. We personally travel around the UK and further afield in the hunt for special items in order to guarantee quality and individuality - so we guarantee that anything we sell has been hand-selected with care.
Alongside the bustle of running the shop, we are also involved in a number of different projects:
- We regularly work with clients to help furnish restaurants and bars
- We hire props for production to the BBC and Icon films amongst others
- We host events within our shop, such as life drawing and live music evenings
As an independent shop we pride ourselves on providing a personal and intimate customer experience, so if you need a little help with inspiration or a full interior design service, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. All sourcing enquiries are welcome however large, small or unusual - we love a good challenge!
