Pair of Retro 1970s Space Age Display Cases

Bespoke Display Cabinets.

Made in the 1970s by a jewellery designer to showcase his wares.

Unusual and one of a kind space age design, perspex pyramids sat on top of wooden painted triangular bases with red carpeted interiors. The cases then sit on black painted steel frames with tripod legs, they can also sit flat on top of another surface if you don't want to use the bases.

The front corner of each pyramid lifts up to reveal the display area, the carpeted interior could be removed if desired. They are secured on the underside by a large bolt, quite tricky to figure out but locks could also be added if needed.

We have used them in our shop for about 5 or 6 years, they have always had loads of admirers and plenty of offers but they were always too useful to us, now the time has come to let them go to a new home as they are surplus to our requirements.

Cases measure: 94cm wide X 40cm high X 83cm deep, when sitting on the steel bases they are 130cm tall overall.

In great vintage condition, there is general wear and tear as you would expect. There is some scuffing to the perspex, however this isn't too bad. Marks etc. on the wooden cases and metal legs consistent with age/use, these could be repainted black if so desired but don't need to be in my opinion. Please see photographs.
