Victorian Hand Painted Screen

Victorian Hand Painted Screen

Late 19th century naturalistic hand painted embossed three-fold draught screen.

Beautifully decorated and colourful antique screen, perfect for any room as a wonderful decorative piece. The paint has some beautiful gilded sections that are stunning when the light catches them - the photos cant do it justice.

The screen's frame itself is made of wood with leather panels and trim, surrounded by small brass buttons as shown in the photographs. The leather panels have a paper hand painted and embossed covering .

Is it showing some signs of its age with it being quite worn in some areas and there are some tears particularly to the left hand panel but this could be repaired as it is torn so the panel is all there if you did want to have it repaired.  Please see photos. I actually love the condition of the screen it really does tell its age and the colours of the ornately painted panels against the damage is beautiful.

I think it would also make a stunning headboard or piece of history on a wall even.

Measuring 178 cm H X 46 cm W X 10 cm deep when closed.  it is 140cm wide when extended out fully.
