MOLLIE’S AHHTOOTS PHOTOSHOOT

We were approached by a fantastic wedding stylist called Kirsten Butler (check out her instagram: weddinghelperuk) and wonderful photographer Joanna Ritchie (check out her photography). They wanted to know if we would be interested in providing props and furniture for a collaboration with the incredibly artistic cake company Ahhtoots (be sure to check out their works of art/cake). Of course we jumped at the opportunity to work with such a talented bunch!

The brief and style of the shoot was to recreate an artist’s studio and fill it with cake. So I went on the hunt sourcing authentic artist materials and managed to find a wonderful collection of paint palettes, paint tubes and oil paintings. One of my favourite items that we found was an untitled impressionist oil portrait. It is a charming and emotive piece depicting and elderly woman drinking a cup of tea and smoking a cigarette:

We already had a number of things in stock that I knew would be perfect for the shoot. For instance a delicate chair, spattered art stools and galvanized paint containers.

We used our lock up for the photoshoot, turning a huge canvas around to use as the backdrop for the photo. We all came together and had a fantastically creative day, it was wonderful to see the different ways we all worked and how it came together to produce some amazing images we are really proud of. Check them out below and let us know what you think….
