Victorian Hand Drawn Botanical Diagram - Mare's Tail

Victorian Hand Drawn Botanical Diagram - Mare's Tail

Original 19th Century Large Botanical Study Wall Hanging - Mare's Tail

Depicting a cross section of the stem of 'Hippus Vulgaris' - common name: 'Mare's Tail' under microscope. A Eurasian aquatic plant.

A hand coloured pen and ink drawing with beautiful calligraphy.

Reminiscent of a geometric abstract print.

Linen backed and edged with small brass eyelets for hanging.

Would also look great framed up and would equally grace any collection or interior design project.

We have recently come into possession of a large portfolio of these botanical studies originally from the Botanical Laboratory Oxford. We will endeavour to get as many online as quickly as we can but if you are interested in seeing any more please visit the shop or contact us directly.

Measuring: 75.5cm X 84cm.

The diagram is in good vintage order, there are obviously some signs of age/use as you would expect that don't detract from the overall look of the piece. Some discolouration and pin holes etc. Please see photos.
