Victorian Framed Print 'That's Rude Doggie' by Maude Goodman

'That's Rude Doggie'

by Maude Goodman

A charming and emotive Victorian print depicting a young infant telling off a a do sat on a gilt framed antique sofa, we believe the dog to be a pug. The interior is quite dramatic with antique furniture, lighting and curtains.

This is a late Victorian piece dating to 1899.

Goodman was born in Manchester and then moved to London where she was a pupil of Edward Poynter, she exhibited 54 works at the Royal Academy as well as the World Exposition in Chicago in 1893..

This charming piece would be great in a nursery, a dog lover or would grace any collection or interior design project.

Measuring: 74cm X 51cm (Total) and 46cm x 25cm (Print).

The print has quite a bit of wear to it and has some dirt under the glass, there is also wear to the gilt gesso frame. We love the wear and tear to this piece and it is part of the reason we bought it, we think it adds to it's overall charm and aesthetic. Please see photos.
