Large Oil on Canvas Painting After 'Self Portrait with Two Circles' by Rembrandt

The original is argued by some as the greatest painting in Britain and currently sits in Kenwood House in London. The self portrait is considered by some to be his masterpiece.

This example is unsigned but the original Rembrandt painting obviously meant something to this artist who has successfully and skilfully executed this painting using confident brush stokes. The colour palette is somewhat darker than the original making it more moody and it has an almost impressionist feel.

I would say this painting dates from the early to mid 20th century and would look great above a mantlepiece or indeed a hallway, either in a residential or commercial setting and is a great interior design piece. It is framed in a simple and complimentary gilt frame.

The painting is roughly the same size as the rembrandt version. Overall measurements are 128cm high X 107cm wide X 6cm deep.

It is in excellent vintage condition with only some minor surface wear and tear. Please see photographs.
